Custom Development
Many of our clients have development needs that extend the website across its traditional boundaries or are not related to a website at all. Some custom development has both external and internal-facing components. Ideosity is able to meet your needs in this area as well.
Sitefinity Customization
While Sitefinity comes with a significant amount of functionality, invariably there will be requirements for your website that necessitates custom development. The ease with which Sitefinity can be customized and extended is one of the reasons Ideosity has chosen to partner with Telerik. Whether the customization is something simple like a small rolling counter or a utility to manage the available spaces in an office park, the Sitefinity platform can be extended to meet your website needs.
Application Development
Our commitment to our customers doesn’t stop at their website. Often, we find our customers need custom applications to enhance business processes. Ideosity is fully capable of building custom applications from the ground up in the same way we build your website. In many cases, we find our customers want to integrate portions of the custom application into their website. For this reason, many of the custom applications are implemented as web applications, essentially internal websites.
Examples
Website Integrated
Vendor Portal
Ideosity has implemented some form of Vendor Portal for a number of clients. A vendor portal on your site can let your vendors see their PO’s, acknowledge them, and keep you updated on shipping information and expected delivery times. The internal side will let you upload the PO information and maintain a list of your vendors and their information. If you want a bit more functionality, the internal side of your system can email your vendors a secure link to the PO when you generate it. The system can log when the PO was viewed and by what IP address. In this way, one customer’s purchasing department has reduced faxing costs by 95%. A Vendor portal is one way in which Ideosity’s custom development has smoothed the flow of doing business.
Rebate Management System
Many companies offer rebates on their products. And many companies turn to a third party solution to manage and track rebates. One of our customers had managed their rebate programs in house and wished to keep it in house but needed a better solution. Their rebate system required up to six people to keep up with the volume. Ideosity designed and built a new system which reduced the workload to the point where one person was able to manage the same volume of rebates. We also improved responsiveness to the customer with automated emails and integrated the Rebate data with our customer’s existing end user information to help them build a more complete picture of their consumers.
Warranty Management System
As with managing rebates, managing Warranty claims can be a taxing process for a company. Ideosity designed a built a Warranty management system for a customer that allows for full claim lifecycle management, integrates with their existing end user database and provides data for a reporting system to give them visibility on product failure rates. In addition, the system manages the list of Authorized Repair Centers. This information is shared to the customers websites in real time. In this way, the websites can be updated in real time by the appropriate business unit instead of having to wait for IT or a third party company to make the updates.
Internal Applications
Custom Business System
A while back, one of Ideosity’s business partners approached us about building a custom business system for them. Their existing primary business system was limiting their growth, had little in the way of role-based security and didn’t integrate with any other system. They asked us about the feasibility of building a replacement that could scale as they grow, integrate with existing systems and be open to integration with upcoming systems, allow for a granular, role-based security based on Active Directory, and handle all their products, services, and billing models. Well, we don’t back down from a challenged and delivered to them an application that met all their criteria and packaged it with an intuitive user interface.
The new system is a web-based application that was built with scalability and integration with their systems in mind. Because it runs on a web server, no custom software is needed to run it and the demands on their support staff is minimal. There is no software to install on a user's machine. Once a new user is set up in Active Directory, a designated super-user can assign the new person the appropriate roles and have them up and running in moments.
